Aechmea Varieties Plant Care

This bold bromeliad with its bright flowers against its striking
foliage is a stunning indoor plant that can also be used on a
patio,and, in some parts of the country,can be grown
outdoors. Flowers will last approximately 5 to 8 months.

Location

Your Aechmea likes the light but not direct sunlight.
If using outdoors, ensure it’s not in full sun. It may also need
acclimatising to an outdoor situation. A shade cloth draped
over the plants for 3 to 4 weeks works well.

Water / Fertiliser

Always ensure there is water in the cup of the plant. Keep
the soil moist but don’t allow the plant to sit in water. Feed
your plant fortnightly at half the rate specified on the label
instructions. Bromeliads are low feeders. Fertiliser should be
applied to the cup of the plant.
